Royal Jewel Cat
2017 Brown Rabicano AQHA Gelding
SOLD!! Off to Iowa to be a Breakaway Roper
This 2017 AQHA brown rabicano gelding has the talent, brains, and drive to take you where you want to go. His personality is adorable, you just can’t help but love him. He is just like his daddy, our beloved Cats Royal Boon.
Haggard has a very bright future and was born, raised, and trained here.
A show home is a must. Haggard is 14h now, but he’s out of a gorgeous 15.2h mare, so we expect at least 14.2h at maturity. Great bone, feet, and teeth, straight legs and a nice build. Very talented, smooth gates, very smart, & has the desire to please. This guy loves his cow work and stays broke even with a break in training. There are no holes, no issues, and he has had the absolute best top notch care since the day he hit the ground.
Come swing a leg over him, enjoy our facility, and see if he is a good match.
Performance Training : Haggard showed at his first show 8/12-8/14/2020 and pulled checks in both herd work and reining. He handled the show life like a perfect gentleman (see the photos from our friend who cooled him out each day below).
18 months of reined cow horse training with plenty of breaks and rest. He is so easy to train that we could keep his miles low. He’s like a dry sponge, just soaking it all up. Haggard has spent some time being ridden outside and also roped and drug the dummy, bushes, logs etc. He has been exposed to any and everything we could think of.
Haggard will remain in FULL TIME TRAINING and may be hauled to more shows until sold, so his price is subject to change.
Ranch Work: Now that our show season is over, Haggard is being used regularly on the ranch. He has gathered pairs, weaned calves, and moved the cows to Winter stocks (6.5 miles). He rides out great alone, does his job like he has years of experience, and stays great minded and sweet.
Keep him on the training path he’s on and when finished, he makes an excellent, solid horse in reined cow horse, ranch horse, SHOT, and versatility that a non-pro, limited non-pro, or amateur can keep at home or an open rider can just haul. If roping is your deal, change it up and make him a high-level heel or calf horse. He is a perfect age and has such a great foundation, the sky is truly the limit.
He is respectful, responsive, and enjoys being around people. Jason has done an excellent job with him.
Enrolled in the AQHA Ranching Heritage Program.
Always been on an 6-8 weeks trim/shoeing schedule, UTD on teeth ( both done on 7/10/2020), vaccinations, & worming. He has had the absolute best of care and treatment since the day he was born. Easy to haul, shoe, saddle, catch, & bathe. No vices, no bad habits. PPE welcome.
For reference in photos and videos, Jason is 6’3” with very long legs.
Time has really gotten away from us…. New videos of this sweet boy are on my '“to do” list.
