Gator is very smart, talented, and easy to train. The videos below are his first ride and the last half of his third ride. I missed his second ride because I struggled with getting our toddler (human) to the barn that morning. If you watched Ride #2 on the other 2023s, his was just as good.

He is growing up strong and is built very correctly. He is a twin but was nearly the same size as a single foal at birth and has always been the same size as the rest of the foal crop. We love this cross as they are incredible cow horses in and out of the arena. We own his 2019 brother, whom Jason showed at the 2022 NRCHA SBF. We expect nothing less from him.

Gator is being started in our colt-starting program, benefiting from Jason’s 35 years of experience and love of the RCH event. As you can see, he is pretty laid-back, very talented, and handles everything like a pro. He has great ground manners, ties, bathes, and stands for the farrier.

If he is anything like his parents or brother, Gator will have quick feet, a ton of cow, beautiful stops, and clean, easy lead changes with pretty circles. In the right hands, he will make an OPEN-LEVEL FUTURITY REINED COW HORSE, a national-level versatility/stock horse or futurity rope horse, and more!

I am so confident in his ability that I will pay 1/2 of his OPEN LEVEL 2026 national or regional Reined Cow Horse entries for his owner’s rider of choice. Any level open (Level 1 - Open), NRCHA SBF, or any affiliate of choice, and no, you don’t have to split winnings with me. I’ll just take 25% ;-) ~ C.J.

Our unique 40-year breeding program offers buyers many benefits:

  • We are a small, hands-on operation, so we know our horses as well as anyone can. We’ve known the horses that were born here since the day they were born. Both sire and dam of this prospect live on our ranch in fact many of our broodmares were born and raised here, too. Or purchased when they were very young, then trained by Jason and had show careers before becoming broodmares. Our stallions were all purchased as youngsters, trained, and shown here. Learn more about our breeding program.

  • An equine nutritionist, PhD, designed our feed program. This filly has been on BUCKEYE Nutrition’s feed program all along.

  • We aren’t new to what makes a truly enjoyable performance horse. They need certain qualities and attributes, starting with trainable minds and high-level talent. Correct conformation, great bone and feet, pretty reining maneuvers, and a strong drive to work cattle are all important. We created this baseline for ourselves as breeders and work hard each year to make them even better.

  • All the horses we raise are welcome to return here to join our 35-year colt starting program. Learn more about Jason’s horse training experience.
