He is growing up strong and is built to last. He is the 1st progeny of Bob Hes Quick and his dam, but she and Cats Royal Boon have made several stellar performance horses that are now in Georgia, Florida, and Texas. We expect nothing less from him.

Docs Firey Gypsy Sky (dam) was born and raised on our ranch, and her bloodlines go back to Doc O’ Lena, Ranch Colonel, Sky High Leo, and Flying X Six - both from Kreb’s Quarter Horses of Scott City, KS - shown by Bozo Rogers.   She has PE in cow horse, AQHA VRH, Heading, & Heeling.

As a future performance horse, Rebel will have quick feet, a ton of cow, beautiful stops, and clean, easy lead changes with pretty circles. In the right hands, he will make an OPEN-LEVEL FUTURITY REINED COW HORSE, a national-level versatility/stock horse or futurity rope horse, and more!

Ride #55ish - 4/15/2025 - Yesterday, we introduced Rebel to the pasture and what is left of last year's Cowgirl Challenge trail course. Today, it's old hat.

Why? Easy. He was raised and trained by a performance horseman who has started 10,000 colts over the last 35 years and truly understands horse training. Jason taught him to trust, have a good work ethic, and be a willing partner. Jason used his natural personality, inclinations, talent, and ability to design a training program where the horse could thrive. Rebel has fun; training isn't a chore.

This is a 55-ride gelding (at absolute max), but every ride meant something and it was all done over five months. His first ride was on December 13th. There were several nice, over-a-week-long breaks in there.

Watch all his videos; you can swing a rope, work the flag, and ride outside (right?!?!). Heck, he likely has more life experience than some people’s 8-year-olds, and no one had to push him hard to get here. Imagine what a future he will have.

• Important to mention that Jason Perry is 6’2” with a 39” inseam for all riding videos.

• Dental with wolf tooth extraction done 2/19/2025.

• 2025 Spring Vaccinations (Merck's Prestige 5 + West Nile) and Deworming (Equimax) done 3/10/2025.

• His first 3 rides (at the bottom of the page) were done three consecutive days 12/13 to 12/15. This is a modified version of an old technique Jason learned from Ray Hunt. It may look like chaos to those who don’t know the nuances of colt starting, but it is an excellent way to get them ridden in short rides, get good progress in a low-stress environment, and get them out of the round pen quicker. We use the round pen as needed, but this method is a great way to get them out and allow them to stretch their legs and move.

• He has a great set of manners and has been exposed to farm machinery, dogs, cattle/buffalo, horse walkers, etc.

• Been on BUCKEYE Nutrition’s feed program since weaning to encourage steady skeletal and muscle growth to promote performance and longevity.

• Always had proper foot care, timely vaccinations & deworming etc.

• He is welcome to stay in our training program for as long as the new owner wishes. As a buyer incentive, we offer a training discount of $250 off each month for the first six months of training.

Our unique 40-year breeding program offers buyers many benefits:

• We are a small, hands-on operation, so we know our horses as well as anyone can. We’ve known the horses that were born here since the moment they were born. Both sire and dam of this prospect live on our ranch. In fact, many of our broodmares were born and raised here, too. Or purchased when they were very young, then trained by Jason and had show careers before becoming broodmares. Our stallions were all purchased as youngsters, trained, and shown here. Ride #30ish - 3/18/2025 - He is really starting to understand directions and aids - listening to his trainer. This gelding is very stylish, and with just 30 rides. Just imagine how awesome he will be as a finished performance horse.
